For most of my growin' up years, my family did the same thing on New Year's Eve. A New Year's Eve tradition, if you will.
The family piled into the vehicle-of-the-moment (Daddy loves shopping for used cars) , drove to I-45 and 1960 in Houston, and ate at James Coney Island - the best durn dog around. I always enjoyed the plain coney with the better-than-cheez-whiz cheese on top. Then a generous squirt or two of their "hot sauce", which resembles red water, but certainly doesn't taste like it, on top.
Dee-licious!!!
So here's to James Coney Island, my coney lovin' Daddy, and tradition!
Hope you have a Happy New Years! (with cheese and hot sauce on top!)
